ABOUT US

The Falls Music Academy was started in 2023 by the Head of the Academy, Reneé Ferreira. The Academy replaces the music centre previously known as the Trinityhouse Little Falls Music Centre, run by Mark Baker. The Academy specialises in individual practical music tuition and group theory classes. The Academy accepts all students, regardless of age, school, or occupation. You can be as young as 4 years old or as old as 65 and register as a student at the FMA! The Academy provides piano, guitar, violin, drum, voice, saxophone, clarinet, and recorder lessons. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced music student, the Academy's teachers can challenge you to improve your technique and your performance skills.

As we operate in an academic environment, we teach the curricula of the Trinity College of London (TCL) and Royal School of Music (ABRSM) and are qualified to prepare and enter pupils for graded examinations conducted by both international exam boards. Both TCL and ABRSM expect practical candidates to have prescribed theoretical knowledge. Therefore, Music Theory tuition is compulsory for all pupils entering for practical examinations. The Falls Music Academy provides lessons of different durations: 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes. The duration of a pupil’s lessons will depend on the pupil’s music level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) which will be determined by the teacher. If you are unsure about your child’s music level, you may request a trial or evaluation lesson before committing to a specific lesson duration. Teachers are committed to teaching each student to the best of their abilities. Parents will be kept up to date with the progress of their children by their respective teacher.

While the Academy runs independently, it is officially acknowledged by Trinityhouse Little Falls. The school offers the Academy students the opportunity to perform onstage during official school events such as assemblies, school concerts and awards evenings. The school is proud of the FMA, and presents special school awards to deserving candidates according to the recommendations of the music teachers and the management team of the Academy.
